Things to Do in Farmington

At just 2.6 square miles, Farmington is a small town in every sense of the word. Though there may not be miles of shopping and dining available, there is plenty to do in town. Farmington is known for hosting a variety of local festivals throughout the year.

During the summer, Farmington hosts Lunch Beats, with live music in the park every Wednesday at noon. The Farmington Farmers and Artisan Market also takes place all summer long, each Saturday morning.

Other annual festivals in Farmington include the Farmington Founders Festival, Harvest Moon, Art on the Grand, and Holly Days. No matter what time of year, there is always something fun bringing the community together in Farmington.

The downtown Farmington area is a charming place to take a walk or window shop, in addition to being home to many excellent restaurants.

Try MI Mosa for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. The restaurant was established by two brothers who bring a combined 20 years of fine dining experience in California to the Farmington restaurant scene. With a passion for supporting their community, you will find local artists featured on the walls and locally sourced ingredients everywhere they can use them on the menu.

2 Roses is another great place to eat any time of day. Though they have a menu featuring a wide variety of dishes, they are specifically known for making the best crepes in Farmington.

When it snows in Farmington, as it often does all winter, head over to Sorrows Sledding Hill near downtown. Free and open to the public, it is the perfect place to spend the day sledding, close enough to warm up at the end with a cup of coffee or a warm meal at one of the local downtown cafes or diners.

Schools in Farmington

Farmington is known for its excellent public schools, part of Farmington School District. The district serves students in both Farmington and Farmington Hills, and is known for supporting student success with lower student to teacher ratios.

Farmington Real Estate

Farmington is primarily a historic real estate market, with mostly older homes. There are many homes available in the mid $200,000s, with a variety of larger homes for a higher price point as well. You will find that nearly every home in Farmington is located within walking distance of the downtown area and an excellent public school.
