"I love the people!” Kristy Horne replies when asked what she likes best about her profession. With over 15 years experience in customer service and 7 in real estate, Kristy’s love of people percolates through every aspect of her conversation about what she does.
“It’s so exciting!” she says, “to hand people the keys to their new home!” She is accessible, dedicated and enthusiastic about helping people make what will probably be the biggest purchase of their lives. “As your friend and as your Realtor,” Kristy says, “my mission is to negotiate the best possible deal for you!”
In friendly, helpful fashion, Kristy carried a baby through numerous showings for a woman who was very pregnant with her 2nd child. After the closing, Kristy sold the first home very quickly. “That’s one happy woman,” she says, adding, “we’ll probably be friends for a long time.”
Friendship’s important to Kristy, whose empathetic, warm heart motivates her to make moving as stress-free and joyful as possible. Recently she helped relocate a woman who had lost both her husband and a daughter within 3 months. Moving from the family condo to a home near another daughter was necessary but filled with a deep sense of loss. Kristy sold the condo, found the new home and presented her client with the following sign at closing: “Welcome to New Memories!”
Helping people ease through difficult transitions is what Kristy does best. A big heart and compassionate nature are integral to who she is and how she approaches her profession. She doesn’t find this remarkable however. Instead she believes that “This is the way people should be.”
A recent addition to the team at Dwellings by Rudy and Hall, Kristy says that the best decision she ever made was to become a realtor. But joining Dwellings is a very close 2nd. She’s thrilled to be a part of the cooperative, concierge culture of Dwellings. “I felt at home right away,” she says.
Indeed, her bright energy, consummate work ethic and caring heart are a perfect match. If you’re buying or selling in the Metro Detroit Area, you’re in good hands with Kristy Horne.
